Paypal Signup

While this step is optional it is highly recommended.

For an eCommerce site to be successful, it must be able to accept payments online. There are quite a few online shopping cart systems available. I chose the PayPal cart because they are one of the most recognized payment systems online and you can sign up for an account for free.

The template we will be using in the second session of this workshop does not require you to have a PayPal account to display your products online, but if you have a PayPal account it can easily be incorporated into the template to allow you to accept online payments.

We will not go through the process for signing up for a PayPal account since the information you will need to provide is of an extremely sensitive nature such as bank account information and takes a few days to complete.

Using your web browser (ie: FireFox or Internet Explorer), navigate to http://www.paypal.com and sign up for an account. Once you have an account, you will need to upgrade to both a verified and a Premier business account.
